筆者にとって岡村といえば、靖幸君でもなく、ナイナイでもないない。孝子様である。

恋愛というものを経験してみたかった高校時代。悲しいかな、滑って転んで野郎専科の高校に入学したものだから、見渡す限り汗臭いニキビづらの輩ばかり。町中ですれ違う女子高生に声をかける勇気も持ち合わせず、日々悶々と妄想に励む毎日を過ごした。


そんな当時、同じく電車で通学していた福永君（元CXアナウンサー)に、「きのけん、これば聞いてみらんね」と言われて借りたのが、岡村孝子6thアルバム「KISS」だったのだ。

クリアで優しい歌声に美しいメロディ。加えて、時には前向きに、時には心が折れた女性の心情を見事に表現した歌に衝撃を受け、甚く陶酔した。以来、過去のアルバムを全て買い揃え、新しいものが出たら即座に買いに行った(仏壇のご先祖様、その節は大変お世話になりました(殴))

早かった朝は「心の草原」で心地よい目覚めを迎え、「リフレイン」で心を静めて就寝する毎日。そう、私の高校時代の恋人は、孝子さんだったのだ。

そして数年前、驚くべき出会いが訪れる。我が野球チームの広報部長カネタクちゃんと飲んだ時のこと。お互いに好きな音楽の話をしたときに、筆者が「岡村孝子が好きなんですよ」と告げたところ、普段、感情を全く表に出すことがないタクちゃんが目をまん丸にして「えっ、それってマジですか？実はうちの○○○が孝子さんのXYZなんですよ」
並々ならぬなどでは形容が足りない関係に、筆者も口があんぐり。生きていれば驚く出来事は多々あれど、この驚きは次元が違った。それからというもの、孝子さんのグッズなどを頂き、おかげ様で筆者の部屋は、あなたと生きた季節(from SOLEIL)と言っても過言ではない状態となっている。

その孝子さんが先日、病に伏したというニュースが飛び込んできた。とても驚き、辛く、悲しい気持ちになった。ご本人は現在、闘病中。苦しい中、頑張っている。何もできないが、ただただ早く戻ってきてくださることをお祈りしている。

で、先日のこと。

タクちゃん「きのけんさん、これ、買ってないですよね（ニヤリ）」

きのけん「えっ！ああ、まだその・・・」

タクちゃん「差し上げますよ」

きのけん「え〜〜っ！そんな、いいんですか？」

浅ましくも頂戴はした。が、帰ってから激しく後悔。闘病中の孝子さんの回復を願っておりながら、何故に発売直後に買いに行かなかったのか。貴様、高校時代から、どれだけの時間彼女に幸せをもらったんだよ！バカバカバカ大馬鹿野郎！！

といった葛藤を経て、遅ればせながら。

もたもたしていたため、５月の晴れた空(from liberte)に間に合わなかった(泣)

ということで、僕と孝子さんのお話でした。
